He Is Able

21 years ago today, a group of terrorists hijacked four planes with the intent of harming as many Americans. Yes. Disrupt the financial district, throw havoc into our country's lives. As many as they could inflict, they set out to do that on this day. 2001. Yes. Two planes successfully crashed into the twin towers there in New York.

Another plane crashed into the Pentagon in Virginia. The fourth plane they say was headed to Washington DC, but it was taken down by a group of rebels who decided not today. The guy said less roll in a group of passengers fall back. That happened 21 years ago. Yeah. This day, nine 11 . And we remember that something happened during that season of bereavement and death and destruction and heartache and surprise.

Something happened in the life of our country. at that point in our history. Unlike any other time, church attendance and Bible sales sky rocketed yes. Same saying everybody wanted to know was going home. Yeah. Church attendance went through the roof during the crisis. Everybody tends to look up something about a crisis that calls us to pay attention.

Yeah. Jude has presented a crisis. Yeah. Yeah, that's good. But he ends just like 2011, 2001 with people looking up Jude ends his letter pointing people. To look up, there was something that's happening. There was a crisis going on. The readers, the hearers of Jude they are living through something that is, is becoming a culture shock to them with these false prophets and these guys, and these apostates who are leading people away, , this is something new.

This is something different. This is something that coming in and sweeping in truth, the church and is catching the people by surprise. And so Jew talks to them about contending for the faith, but he ends his letter telling them the same thing I'm telling you look up. So I want to talk to you this morning.

Yes, sir. I like Jude. I like how I like this small letter, 25 verses. I like it because Jude is not cowing in a corner somewhere telling us to just grin and bear. Amen. Jude is not saying, we're just gonna let this thing play out. And the fate of the believers, we're just gonna leave it into your hands.

Know, Jude closes this small epistle, this small letter telling us to look up. Yeah. Why as the title of this message suggests God is equal. Yes, it is. God is evil. Yes. Yes. People are going to infiltrate. People are out to no good. The motives of those who are seeking to harm us and to draw us away.

They're not always good. People have ulterior motives for a lot of different things, but Jude says that's okay. Any games that they are trying to play really doesn't matter because God is able you gotta understand what Jude is grounded. This argument in. He's grounded his arguments in the fact that I don't care what happens in your life.

I don't care who tries to infiltrate your heart. I don't care what obstacles stand in front of you. I don't care how much, or know the one thing you need to know. God. Yes he is. So I have two points that I want to make this morning and then I will be at you. Good afternoon. So Jude says that God is able.

And when we look at these last two verses, we see why he says God is. So the first one I want to make is real simple is this Christ is sufficient. Amen. I don't care what you're going through. Listen to me. I don't care what you're going through. I don't care what you're facing. I don't care what it looks like, what it feels like, what it is like God is sufficient.

Christ is enough. He's more than enough. In fact, that's the wild line of the entire message that Christ is enough Lincoln verse 24. It starts off. This is like a breath of fresh air. These false teachers have been going crazy. And Jude says, yeah, they are going crazy. But I want to end this lesson in this letter.

Not talking so much about them, but talking about the one who's really in charge now I want to him. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. He says he's able to keep you from stumbling and he's able to present you blameless before the presence of his glory. He starts off by saying now to him, there is no dilemma when it comes to our savior.

None Christ is not panicking. No, sir, Christ is not looking at our situation and pressing the panic button. He doesn't do that. No. He says, Jude says nine one to him. That's take, let's take our attention off of our sales off of the false profits and look at him now. I want to him J he focused.

He beat us to focus our attention. Today's upward now unto him because there is no dilemma in our saving. He is not confused about what tomorrow holds. He is not trying to figure things out, sir. He is not seeing how the marriage is going to work out. He is not seeing how the kids are going to fail.

He is not concerned about those things because he knows the end from the beginning of June says, listen, don't worry. Just look up now on to him. Yeah. It's like you grabbed us by the hand and pulls our chin up and says, not one to him. He's a, he reassures us and, he can say not one to him and you, and I can relate to that just as those who were in Jews, they can relate to it because the blood has made it possible because of what Christ has done.

Now, when Jew says now one to him we get excited. We look up because we know the blood has gave us access to the one who is able, without the blood giving us access to the one who is able, we would, if we didn't have the bug, we would be just like any other man who doesn't know Christ misery?

Yes. The blood has done something. The blood has, it makes verse 24 real to us. The blood causes verse 24 to jump off the page, the blood causes verse 24 to hug us with a bear hug of love. The blood makes 20 real to us. When we see now to him, we like, yes, he's talking about yes. Makes it real. Go over to God.

The blood has a way of doing it. The blood means something to the believer. Yes, it does. And not only does it mean something to the believer, it does something to the believer. So what has the blood done for us? That's verse 24. He says now one to him who is able, what the blood is done. It gave us access to a competent God.

You can you can go to God anytime you want to. And he's able that's right. He's not. See, he doesn't see us coming and say, oh, Lord him again. Oh, Lord her again. I wonder what he wants this time. I wonder how I can serve him, serve her this time. No, we can go to God anytime we want, because he's able, we ought to lose track of the fact that God is able that's right.

There's a lot of noise that drowns out that reality that God is able out of all God's attributes. This one warms the heart to know. That God is able let that sink in. He's able, he's not he's, it's the Bible. Doesn't say that. Now to him who might be able to do something or could be able to do something or now unto him who maybe was able to do something, it says now unto him who is able, sir, you know what that means.

That means that he is able to do for you, what you cannot do for yourself. To God. I like it. God lets us wind up that you remember those toys when you was little, you wind up the little crank in the back of the toy. And since you let it go and it wobbles around and it just wobbles and you laugh and it goes until it can't go no more.

And it just stops because there are, there's no more energy. There's no more friction. There is no more. There's no nothing governing the object, the toy to make it move. The wind that's wind out. God is not like that. That's right. That's right. Although he sniff back and say, okay, you're trying to handle this on your own.

You just, you going to, you gonna run outta steam. Oh God, you gonna run outta steam. He can do for you and I, what we cannot do for ourself, let's go with the argument from the greater to the lesser. What has he done for us that we cannot do for ourselves? Let's start here. Salvation. All right.

Salvation. God has given us something that we could never have achieved on our own. Never. We could have never got reached up to heaven and saved ourselves. No one gets to heaven cuz they have been good. Good enough for him cuz they have the right attitude. So I recently got a shed in the backyard just recently took a while to get it constructed.

It put a Whipp in on me, but it's up praise the Lord. So there's some painting that needs to done be done. And some other little stuff I have to do C cetera, but the shed is up. Praise the Lord, the man got a shake praise. Okay. I don't get nothing else for the year, but I gotta ship.

praise the Lord. So I'm on my I'm cutting the yard the other day and my neighbor comes over and. He says, man, can I see your shed? And I said, yeah, anytime you want to, I'm cutting the yard. So I'm thinking maybe now it's not the right time. Cause I'm cutting the yard. Yeah. He says, can I see it now?

Sure. You can see it now. So we go in the backyard, I open up the shed and he's, we are talking about the shed. He's looking around, oh man, this is nice. And what you going to do this and that. And you need some help painting. And he just got all these things. And then the conversation turns to a conversation about the shed, to a conversation about theology.

It turns, he says, you mind if I ask you a question and he goes on and on asking question after question and I just was sitting back thinking. , this is an opportunity, man. Here I am getting frustrated, cuz he wants to see the shed in the middle of me cutting the yard. And this leads to a gospel con conversation with someone who grew up in the different religions than our wow.

Wow. Got a chance to talk about the end times and got a chance to talk about how God gets able, got a chance to talk about sounds and face sitting right back there you in my shed had the first church meet right there already should took up an offering, actually had the first church meet.

salvation. , that's what I was. That's what I was sharing with the young man. It's not a young man, but that's what I was sharing with salvation. Yeah. The argument is from the greater to the lesser, what has God done for us that we cannot do for ourself? He is able and what has he done in this ability he has given us salvation.

And that's the argument from the greater, what about the lesser sanctification God has given us sanctification. In other words, God is able to make us something that we are not, that we can never make ourselves to be. He is able to clean us up. Yes. Sanctification that's where God comes in and he scrubs the heart.

Yes, sir. And he sees that there are issues with the heart and he scrubs it and he's able to do that because of the blood. We now have access to a competent God, but cause of the blood of Christ. Not only do we have access to a conference in God, but one day we will meet God on good terms. Yes, sir. We'll meet him on good terms.

He says now one to him who is able to keep you from someone. Yes, sir. And to present you blameless before his throne, he will keep you from summer and present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, that word keep in your Bible right there. That word keep is a word that Jew uses that word over and over.

It's a word that's a threaded throughout the little letter of Jew is saying God is able to keep us when we can't keep ourselves. That word keep means to watch means to guard. It means when you got your guard down, guess what God does. Is that good news. When you think that you are not paying close attention to yourself, God is you.

And you know how this is. You ever been driving from point a to point B and you get to point B and you don't remember anything in between. I don't. I know I didn't run any lights. I know I didn't cause no accident, but I got you. And I don't quite remember what God is able to keep you when you can't keep yourself.

When you don't realize that, there are danger seen and unseen that your father is keeping you from. He's keeping you, he's watching you. He's guarding you, but the Bible that he's able to keep you from it, that's not, you tripping your toe and falling down. , that's not you running, jumping the curve and landing on your backside.

, he's able to keep you from stumbling. Here he's referring to. Yeah, this is good news. He's able to keep you from stumbling into seeing, see it, that's it. That's the greatest trip up that we got. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. Seeing. Yeah. And he's able to keep us from falling into seeing scene. Yeah. Now this is good news because in contrast to those false teachers who are falling.

Falling away from the faith. And they're trying to drag others with them. Jude says, don't worry about any of that because God is able to keep you from stumbling. And not only is he able to keep you from stumbling in the good times, but he's able to keep you from in the bad times. And he's able to keep you from falling away and he's able to present you.

He's keeping you and he will one day present you before the throne. Little on you. He'll present you'll you'll be presented. And your presentation to the throne will not be one that's grudgingly. God will not be upset. Why we bringing him? No. When God looks at you. Yes, sir. He won't see you.

He'll see what you'll be. You'll be wrapped in the righteousness. That's not your own. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. And God is look at you and he'll see the blood Jesus. Yes, sir. And everyone will be rejoicing. And it all goes back to the fact that Jude tells us that Christ is sufficient. He's able to keep you from falling and present you faultless.

Now, are you faultless? No. Am I faultless? No, that's the thing about salvation. There are some false, there are some sins. There are some things that so easily, but set us, there are some places that we shouldn't go. There are some things we do that we shouldn't do. There are some things we see that we shouldn't see.

And yet the Bible says God is still able in spite of our discrepancies to keep us from falling as to present us fall. Yes, sir. This is why salvation is the work of the Lord. And not no one else, because only God can take something that God, during on purpose, Jesus, it's not like we backed into, see, it's not like we said, you know what?

I ain't gonna do that. No, we ran towards it and God is able, yes, he is to take us. Now that doesn't excuse us, we still have work to do. We saw last week, how you ought to keep yourself in the love of God. But here Jude seems to suggest that even when you cannot keep yourself, God is sufficient enough to keep you.

Yes, you've seen this in the scripture, Peter. Sometimes God keeps you by allowing you to fall. That's it. Lord. If everybody else leave you, I'm not going. Nowhere. Matthews 26, 33. That's Peter tall. That's what. Everybody else can for safety. You, everybody else can say they not with you or they going be with you.

And not me, Lord. I don't care what no one else does. I will be with you while you read down about 40 or more verses and says that Peter, just like the rest of em left, he denied that he even knew him. That's right. God had told him that already. That's right. So he allowed Peter to fall. Yep. That's not the end of the story you read in John chapter 21.

And Jesus Christ restoring Peter. Yes, he restored. He allowed him to fall. He didn't stop the fall and then he restored. Now this is the providential hand of God. God in his Providence in order to present us faultless, sometimes he allows us to storm. What am I trying to say? Sometimes you gotta go through it and bump your own heads.

Yeah, that's good. Sometimes as a, teenagers, young adults, it's sad, but it is a senior adult, but sometimes you can't, you know everything. Yeah. Can't tell you though, you got it all figured out. And sometimes you got to just step back as an adult, make your parent make a godparent, make a grandparent.

Sometimes you have to step back and just allow someone to just kinda bump their head and let the Lord know with it. Amen. It's not that you don't love Peter. I'll never deny you. Okay. Sometimes you gotta step back. It's not that the Lord takes pleasure in chastising his children because the Bible says, it's the goodness of the Lord that leads to repentance.

Yeah. But when his goodness is overlooked, when we are blinded, God has a way of just allowing us to fall right there. Not so that you can be down and out. He's not trying to cripple you forever. He's not trying to excommunicate you from the church. He's trying to win you back unto himself because that same Peter that denied the Lord got home for the Lord.

And the Bible says that Peter was crucified upside down because he was unworthy to die. Just like his savior. So sometimes when the Lord causes you to fall, it's not a bad thing. He's just allowing his grace to work in your life. Hallelujah. Christ. Is sufficient. That's what Jude is saying in verse 24. Now verse 25, Jude is saying, and I'm done that Christ is worthy.

Yeah, he's sufficient. And he's worthy. Verse 25 to the only God Al savior through Jesus Christ. Our Lord be glory, mastery, dominion, and authority before all time. And now and forever. Amen. Yes. This is called the doc solid. It's just a expression of praise to God. It's compound prerow it's just an expression of praise to God.

This is a doc solid there's really they're doc solids all throughout the new Testament. Paul and Peter both have doxology where they end their letter just giving praises to God. He's worthy of praise. This is no doubt about that, but J doxology, it burst forth with praise. It's filled with the glory and with the majesty of God, Jews wants to be clear.

Yes, God, ain't nobody like the Lord. Nobody. He wants to be clear to God. Nobody's you. don't count out what he can do. Don't discredit how God connects the dot. Cause see, you thought you go from a to B to get to, and it makes sense to you and I, but God connects and it's not always from, to me, get to see don't discredit God, God is Judas bursting forth with praise.

He says one God is worthy of all the glory. Yeah. He says to the only God, our savior through Jesus Christ, our Lord be yeah glory reminds us of the, and the brightness and the, this something you can't even get close to everywhere. God is there is glory and you and I. We reflect his glory, it's SPD and damned, but we reflect the glory of God.

We are his children and we reflect his glory. That's why, when someone gives you a compliment, you often say to God, you the glory, you right to God you, the glory. That's right. Cause we are just, Christians. Believers are reflections of God's glory. We reflect his glory. His glory shines through us. There are moments that God's glory just shows up and therefore we are putting the corner to say, ain't us.

It's the God alone. Be the glory. I was talking to one of our members. They got awarded at their place of work and this evaluation time and they got the highest honor. And it was a blessing. Amen. That's just a reflection of God's glory. That's it? That's it. When, when the trouble comes in.

When we do the opposite of what Jude is saying, he says, God want to him. And then he goes on and say, our Lord be glory. When we say now, want to us. And yeah. He prays on me, pat myself on the back, pat myself, on my head, pat myself on the shoulder, tell me how great bow art. No God said, you're just reflecting my glory.

But all of the glory, all of it belongs to me. Our glory is fading glory. God's glory last forever. One day we would no longer reflect his glory. We will live in his glory one day. We will see him face to face. We will be right in this presence. Roman 8 28 is true. All things work together for good to those who are called a.

To his prayer who loved God. And I called according to his purpose, verse 29 says for those who he for knew he pretested to be conformed to the image of his son. Yes. In order that his son might be the first born among many brothers in verse 30 says, and those who he pre protested, he also called that said, that's it.

And those, he called he justified. I'm trying to get to this last piece. And those, he justified, he glorified. Meaning that one day, one day will stand in his presence. Glory, no longer reflecting his glory, but living in his glory. Can you imagine what the glory of God is actually gonna look like? A newborn baby, that's one of the sweetest things and the most precious things, you can never see a newborn baby.

It's just something about that newborn. That innocence is just, it's just beautiful to behold. It's just no other site, like it, all of the potential, all, everything is just wrapped up in that newborn baby. Just, can you imagine, what's going to be like to be in the presence of God. I fuck glory. Ju says all the glory for him, but he says, God is not only worthy glory, but God is worthy of majesty.

He says all the glory and majesty, three times this word majesty right here in June 25 shows up in the new Testament. And two times, two times it shows up in the book, Hebrews one chapter one, verse three. Hebrews chapter eight, verse one, talking about the Lord, talking about God, the father majesty shows up.

Peter uses it in reference to Jesus Christ here. Jude uses it again to talk about the majesty of God majesty. What does that even mean? Majesty means greatness. Yes. It means graves. It means magnificence. England is mourning the loss of her majesty the queen. Yes. And we're not insensitive to that.

The Bible tells us to weak with those who we, so we, we mourn with that nation. That's right. With those countries who lost their queen. Okay, you and I will never have to, we over our king. I know that's right. Yeah. I know. That's right. His majesty will never fail his majesty. His magnificence will never diminish.

He will always be king of Kings and Lord of Lord. That's why J says those small time puppeteer, false preachers are nothing like ants compared to the majesty. Yes. The magnificence of God. So he's working of all majesty. Then he uses two other words here, dominion and authority. Those words are similar in use.

God is worthy of dominion. That means he's worthy. He's worthy of all the power and the authority, the ability to execute, whatever it is he wants to execute. It's one thing to have power. It's another thing to execute that power. It's one thing to have responsibility. It's something else to execute that responsibility.

Whoever has the power needs the authority to execute the power where J says, God has both. He says, God has both. Your life may be chaotic. It may appear as if God is nowhere to be. Let tell you something. The direction of all things are in the hands of going that's right. He has the power and the authority.

Yes. Jude wants us to recognize he has the power and he has the authority. There is nothing. There is no cancel that he needs to take. God does not meet with angel to discuss Todd Gillman. God makes decisions because he has the power and he has the authority. He is not mailing a letter to someone to ask them what do you think?

Chris William make a good budget. No, he has the power and he has the authority. God does not take counsel. God does not call a committee meeting. God does not say I need you to stay out the church. Cause I gotta run something by you. He has the power and he has the authority and do wants you to know, I don't care what life looks like.

God is still in control your life, Whitney. Me, not maybe what you thought it would be. And you are wondering why is my life like this? We're underestimated. The fact that God is powerful and he has an authority. Yeah. So whatever my life is, this is how it's supposed to be. Yeah. God does not have a plan B for my life.

That's right. I'm sitting in the prison. This past, we talking to the inmate, he realizes I'm here. It's best than God playing. He didn't stop me from doing those committing no things that I knew was wrong. So I ended up here, actions have consequences. So I'm here. So now that I'm here, I'm not gonna be about what God want me to do.

I'm here. How can God use me playing? Just stop. Cause I'm sitting in a jail table. That's right. Half new Testament was wrote from in the jail. He said I got all power and authority. And then in closing because of who God is and what God has done. praise and power are his forever. And he closes by saying our answering the question.

When should he get all of this glory? Majesty, dominion and authority. Jude says he, he had it before all time. Yeah, he has it now. . There you go. And he'll have it forever. Yes. And it's his one word left to say? Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. That's the only thing left to say. I like how the song, this wrote it.

The song is not the book of songs, but the songwriter, he picking up on revelation 19 and one, I like king James version of that when it says hallelujah, salvation and Lord. Yes, honor. And power unto the Lord. Our God. Yes. For the Lord. I, God is mine. Yes he's. Yes. The Lord, our God is omnipotent. That means all power for the Lord.

Our God. He is. I like how the song write says that for the, our is mighty, the, our is powerful all glory. And to there's to say there is nothing that needs to added. There is. Steps that need to be taken. Jews ends the letter to those Christians could telling them to contend for the, he ends by telling them God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you can.

God is able to keep you, God is able, he's worried. He's worthy of majesty. He's worthy of dominion. He's worthy of glory. So the only thing left to do is just line up and say, so let it be that's what amen means. So be it. So let it be just, as you said, Lord. Just that you said, that's the way it is. You heard from saying, God said it, I believe it thats it.

That's not the way true. Cause God said it and thats it. Whether you believe it or not. Amen. Amen.

Praise the Lord and praise the Lord. Peace is then interrupted. Judy wants them to intend for the faith, knowing that don't worry about it. God is able, amen. So as you're standing with me and here's what I want you to know, God is able, yes, God is able, what's the bottom line of the message. God is more than enough.

He's more than enough. Yes, sir. He's not a sometime God who's gonna be in and out of your life. No. Trust him with the process. Trust him with the plane, watch what God fills. You may have to see the blessing of God in the rear view mirror of life, but that's okay. Thank God. You can make it to the rear view mirror of life to look into it, but God knows what he's doing.

He is a yes, he's 80 father. We thank you. We praise you. We magnify you. Thank you. We ask that your will be done. Or just like your will. It's been done in here. Jesus. Bless us in Jesus name. Amen. Amen.

Come on. Let's give me, thanks. Give, thanks with the grateful heart. Give things to the holy one. Give because he's Jesus Christ

with the grateful heart

to the holy

ones. Keys. Christ his, and let we say I strong

because of the, what. Lord has the, for us. And let we say

the

wish because of love the Lord, pastor, Lord,

hallelujah. What the word from the Lord this morning? Amen. God is a, yes, it is. That's good news. Yes, sir. That's good news. So you may be facing something that seems impossible. Seems like you just can't get over that hurdle. That circumstance, that situation. What a great reminder of God's ability. He's able to keep us from falling and keep us from stumbling into sin.

And then we do stumble. He'll use it for his glory. Ho he'll use it to bring us. Through. So we're going to pray. They're making one that does not know the Lord you're watching or you're present. We want to pray for your salvation. The greatest need in a mankind is salvation through our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

So while your faith is at hiss greatest, we're going to pray for you. We thank God for our pastor. Thank God for that word. Yes. And those that have heard it today, let us pray. God, we thank you. And we bless you always for your word. It is a map to our feet and it is a light unto our path. And we thank you for the heroes of the word.

What we pray for that one who has heard the word, and it has challenged them. It has drawn them. It has strengthened them. It has encouraged them, perhaps. They felt your love while the word was going forward. And you reveal yourself to them in a very real way. Lord, I pray that you bring them to the place of salvation cause them to cry out.

I yield. I yield, I can't hold out of it long. What must I do to be saved? Lord, we pray that you would cleanse their hearts, that you will renew their faith, deliver them from hopelessness and helplessness in the name of Jesus. And for those who just needed to be strengthened today, I'm pray that they're encouraged by the meaning of the word that reminded us, that you are able, that you have all power in your worthy of all glory.

Yes. So Rob, be with us now, as we leave this place, we know that we are never ever leaving your presence and empower us to prosper and whatever we put for our hands to do in your name, breathe over and lets say multiply. Yes in Jesus names. And may the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile upon you and be gracious to you please.

May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace in the name of the Lord. Jesus. God bless you. Love Gabe. You are sent praise. God, praise God.
